The Plane Moon

Taken: January 4, 2020 | Location: Back Yard

Very hastily taken…I was setting up a regular photo tripod and the Canon EOS Rebel T6i with an inexpensive manual focus 500mm focal length at 67mm aperture (f/8) lens. It was a relatively warm early evening for January. The corner of my eye caught a plane that looked to be heading straight for the moon. I was in more of a hurry to focus than center the image…but I caught it and was very pleased. I really could not believe how perfect the image could have been with the plane perfectly cutting the moon in half if I had been able to center and employ the skill of lucky imaging at the time.
